About- In 1962, the University started functioning with 34 affiliated colleges and about 14000 students with 5 Post-graduate Departments on the campus. Today the number of affiliated colleges has gone upto 280, and students strength upto 3,00,000 with 34 Postgraduate Departments on campus. The University imparts education in 10 major faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Engineering and Technology.

Eligibility/Qualification–
- Following qualifications for the Post of Assistant Professor (Post Code No.18/24–01 to 18/24-03) as per the State Government of Maharashtra, Government Resolution No. Misc2018/C.R.56/18/UNI-1, dated 8th March, 2019 and UGC Notification dated 11.10.2021.
- A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SET :
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited in the prescribed form for the following teaching Posts to be filled in the Various Departments (conducted purely on non grants basis) as per provisions of Section 102 of Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016.

- PAY SCALES : Assistant Professor-
The pay scale for the post of Assistant Professor will be as per the norms of UGC & State Government of Maharashtra in the Academic Level- 10 (Pay Matrix Rs. 57,700- 1,82,400)
How To Apply-
- The prescribed online application form is available on the University website www.unishivaji.ac.in under the tab “ Recruitment at University ” which have to fill online and printed on A4 size paper and should be submitted in 06 copies with necessary attested documents and Receipt of Online Payment of Rs. 1000/- for open post and Rs.500/- for reserved post should accompany with the application form. Application form other than online form and form without Cash Receipt of Online payment will not be considered for further process of recruitment. The application fee is not refundable.
- Duly filled final printout of online application form alongwith the attested copies of relevant documents enclosed to each copy of the application should be sent to the Registrar, Shivaji University, Vidyanagar, Kolhapur –416 004 so as to reach on or before 02/03/2024 Envelop containing application form should be superscript with “Name of the Post applied: ——.”
