What if the path to literacy for elementary learners runs through the world they already understand: gaming, where progression, effort, and competence feel instinctive?
NextGen Academy is a school designed entirely around students who are passionate about gaming. Learning happens via adaptive software, and the adults present act as facilitators and mentors. Reading is the area where most early learners require the greatest direct guidance, and that is your role.
You will lead targeted reading sessions for kindergarten through second-grade students in small groups. You will apply structured literacy techniques alongside adaptive tools that monitor each learner's development continuously. If a student struggles with phonemic awareness, you intervene. When a student achieves a milestone, you recognize it. Your groups remain small enough to understand each child's current skill level, personal interests, and motivational drivers.
The outcome is observing children who once struggled with basic sounds begin to read fluently and confidently—inside a school where advancement carries meaning in the learning environment, not only in games.
Lead learning. Love growing. Apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Create and facilitate targeted reading sessions for K-2 learners, making phonics instruction interactive, effective, and tailored to individuals
- Modify teaching approaches dynamically according to learner readiness, comprehension levels, and behavioral signals
- Conduct motivational conversations with students to support their progress in adaptive literacy platforms and reach instructional targets
- Track learner performance metrics via adaptive technology and apply insights to customize instruction for each cohort
- Leverage narrative, humor, gaming metaphors, and affirmation to sustain learner effort and address reluctance
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Delivering lectures to a full classroom — learners engage with self-directed applications and your facilitated small groups, not static lessons
- Overseeing a class of 25+ students — you guide concentrated reading cohorts where each learner receives direct support
- Adhering to a fixed, commercial curriculum — you construct your own sessions informed by live learner performance data
- Leading esports teams or delivering social-emotional programming — you are a literacy expert, dedicated solely to reading development
- Working against obsolete instructional models — this institution was purpose-built around adaptive tools and learner motivation
