Reading Tutor, gt.school – $100,000/year USD Jobs in Georgetown, TX at Crossover
Title: Reading Tutor, gt.school – $100,000/year USD
Company: Crossover
Location: Georgetown, TX
- On-site position: Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance available
- $100,000 annual salary, full-time. Health, dental, and vision coverage begins day one
- Structured literacy certification required (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent)
The most impactful support you can offer a gifted six-year-old reading at grade level is to refuse complacency. If you carry a structured literacy credential and have witnessed phonics-based instruction revolutionize emerging readers, consider what becomes possible when you bring those same techniques to children who aren't behind—they're simply unchallenged. The result isn't gradual improvement. It's 5–10x acceleration.
At gt.school, you finally deploy your complete skill set. No basal readers. No district-imposed pacing. You facilitate targeted early literacy workshops for gifted 5–8-year-olds in small groups, conduct running records, organize differentiated groups based on your own assessment, and build every lesson from what the evidence reveals. Adaptive software manages content delivery. Your role is what technology cannot replicate: guiding a select group of exceptional children to surpass benchmarks they weren't expected to reach for years.
Every single student meets their adaptive software targets. Over 90% rate your instruction highly in surveys. This is the natural outcome when a credentialed literacy specialist works with small groups of gifted learners and all obstacles are removed. You'll see first graders who entered at grade level begin consuming chapter books independently. It's the kind of transformation most literacy professionals hope to witness once in their entire career.
If you hold the certification, possess deep phonics expertise, and believe gifted children deserve true acceleration—not enrichment at the same familiar pace—submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating targeted phonics workshops for gifted K–2 learners, designing each session based on student assessment data rather than a scripted program
- Conducting running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and organizing differentiated instructional groups independently
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group motivational coaching through school currency systems, leaderboards, and interpersonal engagement to encourage ambitious goals in adaptive software
- Monitoring live student advancement in adaptive learning platforms and adjusting instruction dynamically as data shifts

- Teaching whole-class lessons. Students engage with self-directed applications, not passive lectures
- Overseeing 25+ students. Your focus is small cohorts of gifted children
- Adhering to a district scope and sequence or preparing students for high-stakes standardized exams
- Teaching content outside reading and writing (math, science, and social studies are not included)
- Developing IEPs, attending committee meetings, or managing school district administrative processes
