Role Description The Reading Teacher role is a remote position focused on providing targeted reading instruction and support to learners, primarily at the middle school level. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering reading lessons, implementing evidence-based reading interventions, and monitoring student progress through assessments and ongoing observation. The Reading Teacher will collaborate with other educators to share best practices, refine instructional strategies, and participate in peer discussions. The role also involves supporting students’ writing skills, communicating regularly with caregivers and school staff, and maintaining accurate records of student performance and instructional plans.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Reading Intervention and Reading Education for diverse learners.
- Experience teaching K-12 students, with an understanding of development and literacy needs.
- Strong abilities in Teaching and Education, including lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional differentiation.
- Proficiency in supporting Writing development, including structuring written assignments and providing constructive feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Literacy, Reading, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license (or eligibility, depending on jurisdiction) is highly preferred.
- Experience with remote or online instruction and familiarity with digital learning tools.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive teaching.
