£110–£120 per day

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience working with children before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy or Teaching? Long Term Futures is working with a number of primary schools across Westminster to identify ambitious graduates seeking hands‑on experience supporting pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of child development, special educational needs and classroom practice while making a genuine difference to pupils’ progress and wellbeing.

About

the Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to:

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during lessons and learning activities
  • Work with children with ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs and SEMH
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and development
  • Build positive relationships and encourage pupil engagement
  • Support emotional regulation and social development
  • Gain exposure to a range of SEN strategies and classroom approaches
  • Develop valuable experience for future careers within education and psychology

No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for graduates keen to develop practical skills within a supportive school environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A graduate in Psychology or a related subject
  • Strong interest in child development, SEN or mental health
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and eager to learn
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
  • Looking to secure a long‑term role from September
