Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience working with children before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy or Teaching? Long Term Futures is working with a number of primary schools across Westminster to identify ambitious graduates seeking hands‑on experience supporting pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of child development, special educational needs and classroom practice while making a genuine difference to pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
About
the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to:
- Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during lessons and learning activities
- Work with children with ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs and SEMH
- Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and development
- Build positive relationships and encourage pupil engagement
- Support emotional regulation and social development
- Gain exposure to a range of SEN strategies and classroom approaches
- Develop valuable experience for future careers within education and psychology
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for graduates keen to develop practical skills within a supportive school environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A graduate in Psychology or a related subject
- Strong interest in child development, SEN or mental health
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, resilient and eager to learn
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
- Looking to secure a long‑term role from September
