The Team

The Ted Rogers School of Management’s Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University was founded in 1999 to improve equity, diversity and inclusion practices in organizations. The Institute develops customized strategies, programming, and resources to promote interdisciplinary knowledge and practice related to gender, race/ethnicity, Indigenous peoples, abilities, and sexual orientation, collaborating with industry, government, not‑for‑profits, and academics.

The Opportunity

The Diversity Institute is seeking a seasoned professional with program management experience, preferably in equity, diversity and inclusion programs, to serve as Program Manager. The role involves planning, developing, managing, administering, communicating about, and reporting on research‑related Diversity Institute programs and events. The Program Manager will ensure that funded objectives are met and that participant needs are addressed through flexible and accessible delivery modes.

Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential to keep program offerings current, relevant, and innovative, and to promote and measure impact.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post‑secondary degree in Business, Communications, Education or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in program management/coordination or a related field.
  • Experience in an academic institution preferred.
  • Experience in management and administration, including monitoring and overseeing program budgets.
  • Experience in planning and promoting programming and events.
  • Participation in national, provincial and local initiatives that enable collaborative work with other organizations and resource drawing.
  • Leadership, management and communication skills in program development and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in program assessment, planning, implementation, knowledge sharing, and evaluation.
  • Strong writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of educational best practices and trends.
  • Equivalent experience or a combination of experience and education may be accepted in place of formal education.
