The Overseas School of Colombo (OSC) is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centred Primary Learning Support Teacher to join our inclusive learning community.
The Primary Learning Support Teacher works closely with school leaders, counsellors, classroom teachers, and families to support learner variability and promote equitable access to learning for all students. The role includes providing targeted literacy and mathematics interventions, implementing inclusive instructional strategies, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with teachers to design responsive learning environments that empower students to thrive.
We are looking for an educator who:
· Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive education and student well-being
· Uses evidence-based practices and data-informed decision-making
· Builds positive partnerships with students, families, and colleagues
· Values cultural responsiveness, collaboration, and strengths-based approaches to learning
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
· Valid teaching certification/license
· Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in elementary or primary education
· Experience designing and implementing literacy and mathematics interventions
· Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and progress monitoring
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
· Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Literacy, or a related field
· International school experience
· Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
· Knowledge of MTSS, RTI, UDL, co-teaching models, and trauma-informed practices
· Experience working with multilingual learners
