We are looking for a warm, capable, and committed Islamic Studies Teacher who is passionate about guiding young children in early Islamic learning while supporting their overall development in a respectful and nurturing environment.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Islamic Studies Teacher based in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
The Islamic Studies Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate Islamic learning experiences for young children, while nurturing positive values, character development, and foundational understanding of Islamic practices in a meaningful and child-friendly way.
The role includes lesson planning, classroom engagement, curriculum support, and working collaboratively with the teaching team to create a holistic learning environment aligned with Valo School’s child-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate Islamic lessons for preschool children
• Teach foundational Islamic knowledge including basic duas, prayers, adab, and simple Quranic learning
• Create engaging and interactive learning experiences through storytelling, songs, play, and hands-on activities
• Support children’s moral, emotional, and character development through positive Islamic values
• Prepare lesson materials and contribute to classroom activities when required
• Observe children’s learning progress and provide feedback when needed
• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support each child’s overall development
• Maintain a warm, respectful, safe, and inclusive learning environment at all times
Requirements
• Malaysian citizen
• Diploma / Degree in Islamic Education, Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field
• Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience (preschool or Islamic education preferred)
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Knowledge of early childhood teaching methods and child development
• Passionate about teaching young children in a nurturing environment
• Warm, responsible, patient, and professional attitude
• Ability to create engaging, child-friendly learning experiences
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience teaching preschool-aged children
• Experience in Islamic education, Quranic learning, or early years religious education
• Creative teaching approach through storytelling, songs, arts, or interactive activities
• Positive mindset, teamwork, and willingness to learn and grow within a child-centred school environment
