Role Description This is a full time and part-time, on-site role based in Colombo for physics, Chemistry and Biology Tutors specializing in Cambridge and Edexcel curricula. Tutors will plan and deliver engaging lessons, support students in understanding key concepts, and prepare learners for school exams and international assessments. Daily tasks include explaining theory and practical applications, reviewing past papers, identifying learning gaps, and providing constructive feedback. Tutors will maintain records of student progress, collaborate with the STEMarathon team on inclusive teaching strategies, and adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject knowledge in physics aligned with Cambridge and Edexcel curricula.
  • Demonstrated tutoring or teaching experience with skills in Tutoring and Communication.
  • Ability to support cross-disciplinary learning using Mathematics and Statistics where relevant.
  • Familiarity with Online Tutoring tools and methods, even though this role is primarily on-site.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; ability to explain complex ideas clearly and patiently.
  • Relevant academic background in science (e.g., physics, mathematics and engineering); undergraduate or higher level preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability in maintaining schedules, and a professional, student-centered approach.
