Part-Time English-Speaking Montessori Educator (Ages 3–10)
School: Montessori International School Pot-en-Ciel – Bouc-Bel-Air (10 km from Aix-en-Provence, France)
Contract Type: Permanent contract (CDI) for Wednesday workshops and English instruction for the 6–10 age group, plus additional hours under a 6-month fixed-term contract renewable once for the 3–6 classroom (Kindergarten).
Working Time: Part-time – 30 hours per week
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Gross Monthly Salary: €1,800
Position Purpose
To support children aged 3 to 10 (from Preschool through Grade 5) in their overall development within a bilingual Montessori environment, fostering independence, curiosity, self-confidence, and English language acquisition.
Working Schedule
Weekly Working Hours: 30 hours
Distribution of Duties
🧒 Montessori Teaching in English
- Kindergarten (ages 3–6): 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. every morning
- Elementary (ages 6–10): 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (5.5 effective working hours)
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (6 effective working hours)
Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (4.5 effective working hours)
Thursday: 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (5.75 effective working hours)
📚 Friday – Specific Schedule
- 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Educational presence with children (Montessori teaching, lunch supervision, and midday break supervision)
- 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: On-site lesson planning and preparation time (included within contracted hours)
- 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Snack time and after-school care

Why Are We Recruiting?
As part of the maternity leave replacement of our Montessori Guide, we are seeking an English-speaking Montessori Guide for our 3–6 classroom. In addition, we are creating a new position for a Montessori Guide in our 6–10 classroom and for our bilingual Montessori workshops on Wednesday mornings.
We are looking for a dedicated professional who is eager to contribute actively to a stimulating, respectful, and deeply child-centered learning environment.
Your Role
You will work alongside an experienced French-speaking Montessori educator who has held this position for 10 years.
As part of a collaborative and committed team, your responsibilities will include:
✨ Supporting children aged 3–6 in their overall development according to Montessori principles.
✨ Preparing and maintaining a rich, structured, and stimulating environment.
✨ Observing each child in order to tailor your guidance to their individual needs.
✨ Presenting Montessori materials accurately, enthusiastically, and with respect for each child's pace.
✨ Encouraging independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning.
✨ Working closely with families and the educational team.
✨ Contributing to the life and ongoing development of the school's educational project.
Profile We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Montessori 3–6 Educator Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent)
✔ Initial Teacher Qualification such as:
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) – United Kingdom
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – United Kingdom
- Bachelor or Master of Education (B.Ed. / M.Ed.) – English-speaking countries
- Teaching License or Teaching Credential – United States, Canada, or Australia
- International PGCE (iPGCE) for international schools
✔ Mandatory experience working with children aged 3–6
✔ Native-level English proficiency
✔ Legal authorization to work in France, if required
