The Parenting Support Program Coordinator provides support services to parents experiencing poverty. These include:

Spearheading Catholic Charities’ flagship childcare support service, which works with families to provide access to the specific childcare that meets their needs. This includes creating childcare plans, creating and managing partnerships with childcare facilities, summer camp providers, early childhood centers, etc., as well as being the “expert on site” about the different subsidies and benefits available to low-income families.

Supporting parents in Catholic Charities transitional housing program and parents in the wider community. The program coordinator is expected to carry a caseload of five transitional housing families and five community-based families and provide parenting coaching by using strength-based practices and a 2
Generation, whole-family approach guided by family voice.

Engaging the wider community in parenting support services offered by Catholic Charities. This includes establishing and growing caseloads by offering monthly workshops at hours convenient to working families (evenings and weekends) and working to ensure widespread commun
ity knowledge about what is available for parents and children through Catholic Charities through sustained outreach. This position will be responsible for the growth of the parenting support program, as measured by increased visits and sustained engagement of families. The program coordinator will be responsible for setting targets in this area.
A flexible schedule is required, which may include 1–2 evenings per month and one weekend day per month to support family engagement activities and program events.
Essential Duties
Program Delivery & Family Support

Coordinates and organizes childcare plans for as many as 24 families, including liasoning with providers, checking in on utilization, and coordinating payments.

Research, learn, and implement developmentally appropriate programming and activities that support the needs, interests, and growth of school-age youth.

Provide direct education and support services to families through home visits, group sessions, and one-on-one parenting education.

Carry a caseload of 5 transitional housing families and 5 community based families at any given time:

Conduct needs assessments, develop family-centered service plans, and provide follow up services.

Promote school readiness, early literacy, and protective factors
-
Grow caseloads through offering services such as story time, music/movement, and play-based learning
-
Facilitate or co-facilitate core programs including Growing Great Kids (GGK), Playgroup, Respite care, group learning, and Safe and Secure parenting series.
Program Coordination & Operations

Lead day-to-day program workflows, including calendars, group schedules, home visit planning, and program coverage to ensure timely and consistent service delivery.

Serve as a point person for intake and referral processes by supporting initial contacts, routing, follow-up, and timely service linkage; identify and escalate barriers as needed.

Coordinate logistics for groups, playgroups, respite/child watch, and parent education series (space, materials, food, presenters, and reminders).

Research and coordinate group learning opportunities for families that align with identified needs, family interests, program goals, and available community resources.

Plan and facilitate approximately nine group learning sessions annually, including coordination of presenters, children’s programming, food, materials, and related logistics.

Organize materials and resources for home visits and groups; maintain supply inventory and prepare materials as needed.

Support onboarding logistics for new staff and volunteers (e.g., scheduling orientation activities, sharing program resources, and supporting access to required tools) in collaboration with leadership.

Promote timely and accurate documentation by completing assigned entries, performing basic file/data quality checks, helping resolve data issues, and supporting consistent use of required forms and databases.
