Position: 1 to 1 Outreach Tutor
The Role
As an Outreach Tutor at New Way Tuition Ltd, you will provide education and mentoring to students who do not attend mainstream education due to reasons such as SEN, SEMH, or risk of permanent exclusion. The role involves one-to-one and group sessions in subjects including basic Maths, English, PSHE, interventions, and mentoring, conducted at pupils’ homes, local libraries, and schools.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing personalized tutoring sessions to students of diverse ages and abilities.
- Inspiring and motivating students to overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
- Building strong connections with students and their families through clear communication and genuine care.
- Adapting teaching methods to suit unique learning styles and needs of each student.
- Incorporating cutting-edge educational technology and resources to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with diverse age groups.
- QTS (QTLS), PGCE or Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Maths, or related field (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for student success.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Current Enhanced DBS (essential).
