GT School operates on a different model. We support Gifted & Talented students in grades K–8 through AI-enhanced curriculum and high-expectation mentorship. We are now expanding our virtual offering to enable families to access GT-level acceleration regardless of location. This position is designed to create a virtual school experience that is demanding, credible, and demonstrably superior.
You will control the complete operational architecture of the virtual program. This encompasses student journey design, advisor performance oversight, cohort-based interventions, and parent confidence. No established framework is in place. You will conduct system analyses, execute rapid iterations, participate directly in live sessions when required, and establish the infrastructure that makes 3× learning gains reproducible.
This is a foundational role for someone who values measurable outcomes. The scorecard includes retention, acceleration, parent trust, and documented student achievement. If you seek independence, complexity, and transparent accountability, this is your responsibility.
What You Will Be Doing
- Creating and iteratively improving the comprehensive virtual student journey to generate acceleration, competitive engagement, and community connection
- Monitoring student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and parent feedback on a weekly cadence to identify deficiencies and execute rapid corrections
- Managing performance standards for the 3× learning framework, detecting XP shortfalls and establishing systems to maintain student progression
- Collaborating with advisors to deliver cohort-specific interventions and anticipatory parent outreach before challenges intensify
- Developing advisor onboarding, alignment, and development frameworks leveraging session data, performance dashboards, and outcome metrics
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Managing a fixed program with standardized procedures and delayed decision-making
- Functioning in a reactive oversight capacity while waiting for others to surface performance concerns
- Prioritizing attendance metrics over concrete academic acceleration
- Generating reports that fail to produce tangible improvements in student outcomes or advisor effectiveness
Online School Director Key Responsibilities
Design and manage a scalable virtual school operation that reliably produces 3× learning outcomes, builds parent confidence, and sustains family engagement through transparent, recognized student achievement.
Basic Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience operating a virtual school or online education initiative from end to end
- Instructional or teaching foundation with firsthand involvement in learning delivery (in-person, online, or hybrid)
- Advanced diagnostic capability using performance dashboards, recorded sessions, and feedback mechanisms to isolate root issues and implement solutions
- Track record managing distributed teams with defined expectations, accountability structures, and consistent execution
- Effective parent engagement skills with history of proactive, confidence-building communication
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience creating engagement mechanisms such as competitions, leaderboards, or programmatic rituals that sustain student motivation
- Familiarity with innovative or AI-integrated instructional models
- Background in designing and executing measurable team development programs including onboarding and calibration frameworks

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
