GT School operates on a different model. We support Gifted & Talented students in grades K–8 through AI-enhanced curriculum and mentorship grounded in high expectations. As we expand our virtual offering, we are focused on enabling families to access GT-level learning gains regardless of location. This position is designed to create a virtual school environment that is demanding, credible, and demonstrably effective.
You will be accountable for the complete operational framework of the virtual program. This encompasses the design of student experience, management of advisor performance, execution of cohort-based interventions, and cultivation of parent confidence. There is no established blueprint to follow. You will conduct root-cause analysis, implement rapid course corrections, step into live sessions as necessary, and construct the systems that make 3× learning outcomes sustainable.
This is an operational leadership role for someone who values measurement. Your scorecard includes retention, acceleration, parent trust, and observable student achievement. If you seek ownership, operational complexity, and transparent accountability, this is the opportunity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing and iteratively improving the complete virtual student journey to promote acceleration, healthy competition, and community
- Conducting weekly reviews of student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and parent feedback to identify root issues and drive rapid improvements
- Managing the performance delivery of the 3× learning framework, spotting XP deficits and creating systems that maintain student progress
- Collaborating with advisors to deliver cohort-targeted interventions and proactive family engagement before concerns intensify
- Developing advisor onboarding, alignment, and development systems informed by session recordings, data dashboards, and performance indicators

- Running a fixed program with standardized procedures and prolonged decision-making timelines
- Relying on others to surface performance challenges while you remain in oversight mode
- Prioritizing enrollment or attendance over verifiable academic growth
- Generating reports that fail to result in tangible shifts in student outcomes or advisor practices
Online School Director Key Responsibilities
Design and manage a scalable virtual school program that reliably produces 3× learning outcomes, builds parent confidence, and sustains family retention through transparent, recognized student achievement.
Basic Requirements
- Demonstrated end-to-end leadership experience managing a virtual school or online education program
- Instructional or teaching background with firsthand experience in learning delivery (in-person, virtual, or blended formats)
- Strong analytical skills using dashboards, video recordings, and feedback mechanisms to diagnose issues and implement solutions
- Track record leading distributed teams with explicit expectations, accountability structures, and consistent execution
- Effective parent communication skills with proven ability to deliver proactive, confidence-building outreach
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience creating engagement mechanisms such as competitions, leaderboards, or rituals that sustain high student motivation
- Familiarity with innovative or AI-powered learning platforms and models
- Experience designing and executing measurable team development programs including onboarding and calibration frameworks

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
