Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an Online Philippines Tutor – Mathematics at Codeyoung. The tutor will conduct live online math classes for school-age learners, primarily focused on foundational to intermediate concepts such as arithmetic, pre-algebra, and algebra. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing engaging lesson plans, delivering interactive sessions, assessing learner understanding, and providing constructive feedback and support. The tutor will also be responsible for maintaining learner progress records, communicating with parents or guardians when needed, and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles. Collaboration with the academic team to refine curriculum materials and participate in training or calibration sessions may also be required.
Qualifications
- Strong subject-matter skills in Mathematics and Algebra suitable for teaching school-age learners.
- Proficiency in Online Tutoring and Tutoring, including delivering live virtual classes and managing digital classroom tools.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
- Experience teaching or mentoring children or teens, preferably in an online or blended learning environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, and familiarity with common video-conferencing platforms.
- Ability to work part-time with a consistent schedule, including potential evening or weekend slots based on learner demand.
- Patience, empathy, and a learner-centered mindset, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful teaching practices.
