Role Description
The Online Mandarin Teacher is a remote role responsible for delivering engaging, interactive Mandarin lessons to learners of various ages and proficiency levels, while actively contributing to curriculum development and administrative operations.
This role goes beyond live teaching; you will be an integral part of our growth—shaping education materials, tracking student success, and collaborating closely with our admin and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Lesson Planning: Conduct live, engaging online classes. Design clear, goal-oriented Mandarin lessons, activities, and educational materials.
- Curriculum Development: Continuously refine and improve the existing Mandarin curriculum to optimize student learning.
- Student Management: Create and maintain detailed student records and track individual progress.
- Administration & Reporting: Provide regular, structured progress reports to parents and guardians. Partner closely with our internal administrative staff.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside the marketing team to support promotional initiatives and program growth.
Schedule & Work Location
- Shift Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Days: Tuesday to Saturday (Full shifts) + a few hours on Sunday.
- Location: 100% Remote. (Must be physically based in the Philippines)
Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Mandarin with at least an HSK-4 certification (or equivalent).
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) for professional reporting and parent communication.
- Teaching Experience: Proven experience delivering structured lessons in an online environment and a solid grasp of modern language teaching methods.
- Technical Setup: Highly reliable, high-speed internet access and a quiet, professional dedicated workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching Mandarin to children.
- Familiarity with diverse learning styles and advanced online teaching platforms/digital tools.
- A degree or formal training in Education, Language Teaching, or a related field. Relevant teaching certifications are a major advantage.
