Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Montessori Teacher responsible for leading a Montessori classroom for children aged 3 to 6 years. The teacher ensures a child-centered, prepared environment that promotes independence, problem-solving, and a love of learning. As the classroom leader, the teacher observes, guides, and supports each child’s developmental journey while fostering a collaborative and respectful atmosphere.
Duties
- Organize and maintain a dynamic classroom environment with Montessori materials that align with developmental needs.
- Introduce lessons across the five key areas of study: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies.
- Observe each child and provide individualized guidance to foster their unique learning style.
- Plan lessons and activities in alignment with Montessori principles and the Palm Grove curriculum.
- Use NAMC resources to create engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Provide both group and one-on-one instructions to support individual goals.
- Perform face-to-name checks hourly and during transitions.
- Maintain records of daily progress, observations, and child portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with Texas state regulations and classroom ratios.
- Communicate effectively with parents through daily updates, quarterly conferences, and regular newsletters.
- Mentor assistant teachers, fostering a cohesive and supportive teaching team.
- Participate in Montessori workshops and professional development opportunities.
- Rotate classroom materials seasonally to support thematic learning.
- Maintain engaging parent boards and ensure consistent communication.
- Participate in school & parent events, conferences, and community activities.
Qualifications:
- AMS-certified Montessori teaching credential for the primary age group.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field (preferred).
- Current CPR and food handler certifications.
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and practices.
- Excellent leadership, observation, and communication skills.
