Math Mentor — Shape Lives, Not Just Grades Jobs in Singapore, Singapore at Scholars Hall

Title: Math Mentor — Shape Lives, Not Just Grades

Company: Scholars Hall

Location: Singapore, Singapore

About the job

Some tutors teach subjects. We're looking for one who changes lives.

At Scholars Hall, we believe the right mentor at the right time can reshape a young person's entire trajectory — not just their grades, but their confidence, their curiosity, and the way they see themselves as learners. That's why we don't just teach. We mentor.

We're a premium in-home tutoring and mentorship company in Singapore, and we're growing fast. We're looking for a full-time Math Mentor to join our team — someone who lights up when a student finally "gets it," who can work with students from Primary through Upper Secondary (and occasionally JC/IB), and who genuinely cares about what happens after the session ends.

If that sounds like you, you're going to love working here.

What your week looks like

You'll spend most of your time doing what you do best: working 1:1 with students in their homes, designing sessions that actually fit how each student thinks and learns. But unlike freelancing, you won't be doing it alone.

You'll have a supportive, energetic team behind you — curriculum resources, structured training, and a dedicated operations crew that handles student matching so you never have to chase leads. Your job is to show up, connect, and teach brilliantly. We handle the rest.

On a typical week, you'll:

  • Deliver personalised Math mentoring sessions across a range of levels and curricula
  • Design lesson approaches tailored to each student's needs, pace, and personality
  • Track progress and fine-tune your strategies as students grow
  • Communicate with parents — clearly, warmly, and honestly — about how their child is doing
  • Join professional development and curriculum training sessions with the team (we make these fun, promise)
  • Help create a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and genuinely excited to learn

Who you are

  • You have real experience tutoring or teaching 1:1 — you know what it takes to hold a student's attention and earn their trust
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, the Sciences, or a closely related field
  • Your command of Mathematics is strong across algebra, calculus, statistics, and problem-solving
  • You're warm, approachable, and genuinely empathetic — students and parents feel at ease with you instantly
  • You're comfortable travelling to students' homes across Singapore (travel allowance provided)
  • You're happy to represent the team at occasional events and on social media — we love celebrating our mentors!

Even better if you…

  • Have experience with IB, JC, O-Level, IGCSE, or local Singapore curricula
  • Have a track record of helping students improve — whether in grades, confidence, or both
  • Enjoy working across a wide age range, from Primary to pre-university
  • Feel a genuine pull toward shaping the next generation — not just as a job, but as a calling

What you get (the good stuff)

  • Total monthly compensation: SGD 5,500–6,500 (base salary + revenue share, scaling with your student roster)
  • Flexible working hours built around your sessions and prep blocks — no rigid 9-to-5
  • Medical insurance and above-average annual leave
  • Access to office space for planning, collaboration, and the occasional team lunch
  • Fully subsidised accredited training to keep sharpening your craft
  • A student pipeline managed by our operations team — no hustling for clients, ever
  • A long-term path toward becoming a recognised, high-value Math mentor in Singapore
  • A vibrant, close-knit team that actually enjoys working together
  • Sound like the work you want to be doing?

We'd love to hear from you. Apply and tell us what drives you as an educator — we're far more interested in your "why" than your CV. Come join a team that's passionate, supportive, and maybe a little obsessed with great teaching.
