The Buckley School in the City of New York, an all-boys K-8 + Academy Year day school, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is seeking a maternity leave replacement for a third grade Associate Teacher from late August through December 2026. This position entails splitting time between two classrooms to help maintain a positive learning environment for all students, and to ensure that the individual needs of all students are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively collaborate with the Head Teacher to plan and prepare differentiated lessons.
- Actively participate in daily classroom management and logistics.
- Communicate regularly with the Head Teachers about students’ academic progress and social/emotional growth.
- Plan and teach small group lessons across a variety of content areas.
- Participate in weekly grade level meetings pertaining to curriculum, data, student social emotional development, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education
- Previous experience working with Lower School aged children and/or a desire to learn how to teach in primary grades
- An ability to work collaboratively
- Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms
- Strong executive functioning skills
- Proficiency in Google Drive/Google docs
