Job Summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. Duties will include implementing and supporting Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) programmes and interventions, under the guidance of the SENCO and external professionals, for pupils with speech, language and communication needs. As well as supporting the activities of individuals or groups of children to enable them to participate fully in their learning and access to the curriculum.

This will include working across different curriculum areas, liaising effectively with teaching staff and supporting the SENCO in assessing and monitoring the provision in place for these students.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, or experience in, delivering Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) programmes.
  • Experience of supporting students’ learning in a school.
  • At least GCSE level education.
  • Good working knowledge of ICT.
  • Recognised Level 3 teaching assistant qualification (Birmingham City Council list).

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support SALT programmes and interventions for pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Support the activities of individuals or groups of children to enable full participation in learning and access to the curriculum.
  • Work across different curriculum areas and liaise effectively with teaching staff.
  • Assist the SENCO in assessing and monitoring provision for these students.
