Richmond Hill Academy is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in our Specialist Resource Provision, Rainbow Base. This role involves working with children with complex communication needs, supporting access to a personalised curriculum, promoting independence and helping pupils reach their full potential.
Working under the direction of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning in the classroom, contribute to pupils’ social and emotional development, and help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will build positive relationships with pupils, encourage interaction and independence, and support the delivery of tailored programmes, including speech and language interventions.
Qualifications and Experience
Good numeracy and literacy skills with GCSE Grade A*–C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Experience of working with or caring for young people.
Ability to build positive relationships and support pupils with a range of additional needs.
Effective teamwork and a proactive, flexible approach.
Genuine passion for supporting inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
