Description

The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer in Microbiology position, to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one section of microbiology for majors and one section of microbiology for non-majors geared toward pre-nursing students. The lecturer will also teach 3 sections of microbiology labs. This is a 9-month non-tenure track appointment. It is not a promotion eligible pathway. Renewal is contingent upon performance and enrollment needs of the department. Courses will be taught at the UH-Katy campus. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline awarded by July 1, 2026.

Successful candidates will demonstrate broad training, skills in contemporary pedagogy, a strong interest in teaching and a willingness to work collaboratively with their counterparts at the UH-Main campus. Experience with classroom teaching and course development are advantageous. Experience with lab course management and instruction are highly desired.
