Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lecturer role in Computer Networking and Cyber Security based in Colombo. The Lecturer will design and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions aligned with institutional and accreditation requirements for networking and cyber security programs. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials; supervising practical labs and projects; and ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. The role involves mentoring and advising students on academic progress, supporting industry certification preparation (e.g., Cisco, EC-Council), and contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement. The Lecturer will also participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance activities, and academic events, and help strengthen industry links, internships, and career pathways for students.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Computer Networking (e.g., routing and switching, network design, network administration, TCP/IP, wireless and cloud networking).
- Applied knowledge in Cyber Security (e.g., network security, ethical hacking, security monitoring, threat analysis, incident response, and security best practices).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Network Engineering, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar) or willingness to obtain them within a defined timeframe.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, or delivering technical content in higher education, vocational training, or industry settings.
- Ability to design outcome-based curricula, assessments, and lab activities that align with industry standards and awarding body requirements.
- Proficiency with learning technologies and tools (e.g., LMS platforms, virtual labs, network simulators such as Packet Tracer/GNS3, and online collaboration tools).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts
