Learning Support Assistant (SEND)

Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work within the school’s dedicated SEND provision, supporting students with a range of additional needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and the SENDCo, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Support small groups of students within the SEND unit.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students both in the classroom and during other school activities where required.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND.

Desirable

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or Healthcare Assistant.
  • Knowledge or experience of autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
