Cathedral School is searching for a Learning Strategies Teacher as our newest team member. The successful candidate will be committed to inspiring students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, understanding the unique developmental and social needs of students in this age group, and engaging with our vibrant and dynamic school community.

Position: 0.5 to 1.0 FTE Learning Support Teacher Start date: September 1, 2026

Required: Valid British Columbia Teaching Certification Strong candidates will:

  • be familiar with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum and core competencies
  • provide one-on-one, small group, and classroom support.
  • support students and faculty in the classroom by implementing and following up on individualized support plans and learning strategies.
  • establish and maintain a series of lessons promoting the use of strategic tools and the development of Executive Functioning or Study Skills
  • work with teachers to adapt the curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  • maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and reports to students, parents, and faculty
  • provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility, along with socio-emotional and self-advocacy skills.
  • other tasks as required by the Head of Learning Strategies.

Salary Range: $61 554 to $102 128 depending on FTE, education, and experience.
