Job brief
We, at The Hosteller, are looking for an experienced and driven professional to join our learning & development team as a curriculum development specialist/instructional designer . In this role, the individual will play a critical role in designing and developing
comprehensive training
and evaluation modules for hospitality personnel. This will include operational as well as behavioural training.
Job responsibilities
Understanding the company’s vision, various product lines, operational model, user demographics, SOPs, tech capabilities, etc.
Understanding travel/hospitality/tourism sectors from an operational pov
Creating and curating detailed training content for hospitality subjects such as front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, engineering/maintenance, security, guest relations, etc .
Designing & developing classroom content, activities, presentations, practical exercises, assessment tools, course evaluations, facilitator & participant guides, and any other training collateral required to enhance training efficiency and measure progress
Applying learning theories and best practices to structure content and activities in a way that promotes effective learning
Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and field teams to ensure practicality, relevance, and alignment of content
Structuring learning outcomes that support the transition from trainee to full-time employee
Ensuring that the curriculum is
inclusive
, engaging, visual, and practical , especially for learners from non-academic or low-literacy backgrounds
Assessing the effectiveness of the learning experience and making adjustments to improve learning outcomes
Qualifications
Min. 5 years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or training development , preferably in hospitality, tourism or
skill development
sectors
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experiential
education
Ability to structure content in bilingual (English + Hindi) format
Excellent
communication
, writing, and
collaboration
skills
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
Familiarity with vocational
education
standards (NSQF, Sector Skill Councils) and government schemes like PMKVY, DDU-GKY, HSRT; not necessary, but would be a plus
