Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities and those requiring specialized support. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs
- Lead classroom activities that support early intervention, speech therapy, behavioral health, and behavioral management strategies
- Monitor and assess student progress through observations, standardized testing, and portfolio reviews to inform instruction and IEP (Individualized Education Program) planning
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support students with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective classroom management practices
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers or teaching aides to ensure consistency in instructional quality and classroom routines
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral interventions, and communication with families
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes social-emotional learning
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or special education settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and library services for young learners
- Expertise in working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or behavioral health challenges
- Skilled in lesson planning tailored to individual learning styles and IEP requirements
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, speech therapists, behavioral health professionals, and community partners
- Ability to implement behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies effectively
- Experience with preschool or private school environments; Montessori or early childhood education certifications are advantageous
- Proficiency in standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to support academic growth
- Familiarity with early intervention programs and childhood education best practices including preschool experience
- Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence
