Role Description The Lead Science Teacher – Secondary School will design and deliver engaging science lessons based on the Cambridge International syllabus, with a focus on igcse Double Award Science and AL Biology. The role includes planning schemes of work, preparing lesson materials, setting and marking assessments, and monitoring student progress. The teacher will lead the science department, support colleagues with curriculum development, and promote best practices in science education across the school. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe laboratory environment, integrating practical experiments, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs. This is a full-time contract, on-site role based at VVIS International School in Lagos, requiring daily presence on campus and active participation in staff meetings, parent communications, and school events.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Science Education, with the ability to teach across secondary levels and guide curriculum development.
- Subject expertise in DA science and AL Biology.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered and inclusive approach.
- Comfortable working in an international school environment; with strong English language skills.
- Relevant teaching degree in Science and experience in secondary school settings.
