Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports individual learning styles.
- Plan and execute daily lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate activities for toddler care, special education needs, and early intervention strategies.
- Monitor and assess each child’s progress through observations, standardized testing where applicable, and ongoing formative assessments to tailor instruction effectively.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones clearly and professionally.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of child welfare, safety, and cleanliness in the daycare setting.
- Incorporate teaching physical education and tutoring sessions that enhance motor skills and cognitive development in young learners.
Requirements
- Candidate must have a 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education/Teaching/Child Development, or a Teaching Certificate or Child Development Associate (CDA) with a focus on Preschoolers (3-5 Years Old). Prior teaching experience in an Early Childhood Program is strongly recommended and encouraged.
- Candidate must meet all additional state requirements.
- Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare environments; classroom management skills are essential.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention techniques, and special education accommodations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that fosters literacy skills, numeracy understanding (including math), and social-emotional growth.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Certification or licensing in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; Montessori training or experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to preschool assessment is advantageous.
