Instructor (Term) – Practical Nursing (Terrace)
Coast Mountain College invites applications for a regular full‑time term instructor in the Practical Nursing program. The position commences August 17, 2026 and ends October 1, 2027. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale ranging from $39.32 to $50.86 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit plan.
Responsibilities
- Teach Practical Nursing courses in face‑to‑face and online settings.
- Guide students, provide feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction.
- Contribute to the academic success of students throughout the program.
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted full registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- 3–5 years of recent and relevant clinical practice experience.
- Additional post‑secondary education in teaching (e.g., Master’s in Adult Education, Provincial Teaching Certificate, Provincial Instructor’s Diploma) is an asset.
- Current CPR certification and up‑to‑date immunizations, including COVID‑19 vaccination.
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated excellence with intercultural competence, particularly with local Indigenous communities (e.g., completion of coursework in Indigenous cultural safety and humility).
- Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, healthcare team dynamics, and current policies across residential, acute care, and community settings.
- Preferred experience working with older adults with complex health needs and familiarity with home support, multi‑level/complex care, and acute care environments.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and proficiency with technology.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
Salary & Benefits
Salary within the BCGEU Instructor Scale ($39.32–$50.86 per hour) plus a comprehensive benefit plan.
