Position: Instructor I, Instructor II, Senior Instructor
The Department of Respiratory Therapy invites applications for two full-time appointments at the rank of Instructor I, Instructor II, or Senior Instructor, commencing January 1, 2027, or a mutually agreed upon date. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department seeks an established or emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and andragogical development. Exceptional candidates at all levels will be considered.
Required
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience as a respiratory therapist
- Respiratory Therapy diploma plus a bachelors degree or Respiratory Therapy degree
- Master’s Degree completed or in progress
- Eligible for licensure with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists
- Have demonstrated experience in formal and/or informal education settings, such as providing public presentations or other means where knowledge was translated to an audience
Preference
- Experience with the creation, facilitation and assessment of simulation education activities for learners within respiratory therapy and across health care professions.
- Possess the skills and knowledge related to interprofessional education (IPE) by developing and implementing learning experiences that integrate collaborative leadership, relationship-focused care, team communication and functioning, role-clarification and negotiation and team differences/disagreements to enhance health care services.
- Demonstrate awareness of advancing practice within respiratory therapy by integrating current evidence, emerging technology, and quality improvement principles into curriculum development.
Duties
- Undergraduate teaching, including live lecture, online and distance delivery formats, andragogical curriculum and course development, assessment, and service-related activities.
- Exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
