Position: City Instructor/Coach Recruitment
Impact the community through active participation as an Instructor/Coach at the City of Vernon’s Recreation Centre. This part-time role is focused on coaching and guiding diverse groups.
The City of Vernon is continually seeking qualified candidates for Instructor/Coach positions in recreational programs. Successful applicants will be responsible for creating engaging activities, following detailed lesson plans, and ensuring participant safety in a structured environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and adapt detailed program plans effectively
• Demonstrate techniques and guide participants during sessions
• Track participant progress and provide feedback
• Enforce safety rules and handle emergency situations
• Prepare equipment and ensure program areas are well-maintained
Requirements:
• Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification
• Acceptable Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• NCCP certification or relevant Instructor qualification
• Proven experience working with various age groups
