Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Instructor at Addis Ababa University, located in Addis Ababa. The Instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, developing and assessing course materials, guiding students in their academic and professional development, and contributing to the research initiatives of the university. Additional duties may include curriculum development, participation in departmental meetings, collaboration with colleagues, and mentorship of students. The role also involves staying updated with advancements in the subject area to ensure high-quality teaching.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in teaching, classroom management, and instructional delivery
- Expertise in creating engaging curricula and course materials
- Strong research skills, including publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals and contributing to intellectual advancements in the field
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and a student-centered teaching approach
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field (required) with preference given to candidates with active research or higher academic qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a collegial academic environment
- Knowledge or experience in Ethiopian and international educational systems is an advantage
