The Thesis Room is an academic initiative preparing to launch an enrichment centre dedicated to empowering IB English students with the skills to achieve clarity, confidence, and independence in their studies. Specializing in rubric-aligned instruction and feedback, the centre will support students across all core IB English assessments, including Paper 1, Paper 2, the Individual Oral, and the HL Essay.
Our approach focuses on breaking down IB assessment criteria, strengthening analytical thinking, and guiding students in the meaningful application of feedback over time.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for an English Teacher located in Singapore. The English Teacher will deliver engaging lessons, create well-structured lesson plans, and support IB English students in developing their analytical, writing, and presentation skills. The role involves providing rubric-aligned feedback on IB English assessments and coaching students to apply the feedback effectively. Collaboration with educators and participation in curriculum planning may also be required to ensure alignment with IB expectations.
Qualifications
- Must be based in Singapore
- 2–3 years of experience teaching IB English, with familiarity across Paper 1, Paper 2, the Individual Oral, and the HL Essay
- Strong proficiency in English teaching and a solid understanding of IB English curriculum requirements and assessment criteria
- Experience in lesson planning and delivering structured, effective learning programmes
- Demonstrated ability to teach using student-centred approaches that build analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain concepts, provide constructive feedback, and engage both students and educators
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related discipline
- A genuine passion for student development, with a strong growth mindset and commitment to helping students achieve their full potential
