IH Sofia is Looking for an Hourly-Paid Teacher of English
Start Date: 1 October 2026
Salary: €12 per hour (inclusive of health, pension, and social security contributions)
Essential Requirements
C1+ level of English proficiency
Positive, proactive attitude with a high degree of self-sufficiency and creativity
Preferred Qualifications
CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or an equivalent teaching qualification
A university degree (completed or in progress)
Job Description
Availability to teach one-to-one lessons and provide cover for classes between 16:00–20:00, Monday to Thursday, as well as weekends
Deliver a range of courses within our “Responsible Global Citizens” curriculum
– Teaching formats: face-to-face and online
– Student groups: Adults, Business, Very Young Learners (VYLs), Young Learners (YLs), and Teens
Work with provided course books, syllabi, and materials, with minimal administrative workload
Engage and motivate students who are curious, committed, and eager to learn
