Position: Summer school Teacher
Schedule:
Full-time: 9:00-4:00
Part-time Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Term: July 2, 2026- August 19, 2026
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Possibility of contract extension based on enrollment and institutional needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, course outlines, and instructional materials in accordance with Ontario curriculum expectations;
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction and support student learning;
- Assess and evaluate student progress in accordance with Growing Success policies;
- Track attendance, assign and grade coursework, and provide timely feedback;
- Maintain accurate academic records and communicate effectively with students and staff;
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional activities, and required administrative deadlines;
- Provide appropriate classroom supervision and maintain a respectful learning environment;
- Participate in school activities and student engagement initiatives, as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field;
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification, or eligibility to obtain OCT certification;
- Experience teaching in a secondary school environment preferred;
- Strong communication and classroom management skills;
- Comfortable working with international students and diverse learning needs;
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills;
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems.
Assets:
- TESL certification or ESL Additional Qualification (AQ);
- Experience using Canvas, Brightspace, PowerSchool, Google Classroom, Turnitin, MyBlueprint, or similar platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is:
$50.00 – $65.00 per instructional hour
Compensation is provided on a per-course contractual basis and will be determined based on qualifications, certifications, teaching experience, and assigned instructional responsibilities.
