Position Requirements
- All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00pm – 8:00pm) and some Saturdays (11:00am – 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
- Punctuality and reliability are a must.
- Strong background in spoken and written French, Math, and English.
- Comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 level;
Grade 12 is preferred. - Instruction class sessions in French for French class.
- In‑person role; must be able to commute to Oxford Learning Fletchers Meadow, Brampton.
- Relocation packages are not available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum.
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities (Position Details)
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Teaching online and in‑person.
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Filling in post‑lesson notes.
- Completing daily student communication updates.
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.
