You will own the academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, surface performance gaps, and mentor high-performing teams to achieve tangible results. You will convert our scientific principles into operational excellence and advocate for this model on a global stage.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum development, motivational systems, and application design.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-driven.
- Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem reviews that identify high-impact barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
- Ensuring strategic cohesion through structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile forums—from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education—advancing systemic transformation in global educational thinking.

- Working on narrow curriculum initiatives that fail to produce systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or practical implementation.
- Transferring performance accountability to mid-level managers or external consultants.
- Depending on organizational reputation or academic theory to convince critical stakeholders.
Head Of Academic Innovation Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across school sites, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
