GP Training Programme Director Jobs in Nottingham, UK at NHS ENGLAND

This TPD role supports ST1/ST2 LLR on Thursdays, working with trainees and local educators to achieve best outcomes. It involves some teaching and pastoral work but is largely about managing education: recruitment, rotations, assessment, and collaboration with other educators and staff in the GP School team.

We are looking to recruit one TPD for 2 sessions per week until 31 March 2027. The role will be based in the local programme with regular travel around the East Midlands.

Remuneration will be at the national GP educator pay scale (GP00-GP01). To be appointed at GP01, applicants must demonstrate a full 12 months of experience at GP00, providing evidence that meets the GP00 year requirements. If insufficient evidence can be provided, applicants will be appointed at GP00 for 12 months before progressing to GP01.

Main duties of the job

  • Work with teams to facilitate recruitment and induction of trainees.
  • Work with GP practices and other education providers to ensure balanced and quality rotations for trainees.
  • Organise the educational programme for trainees, including face‑to‑face and virtual delivery.
  • Support trainees and local educators so that developments are well communicated and issues addressed.
  • Ensure all trainees are appropriately assessed and that the ARCP processes are implemented.
  • Collaborate with senior educators and staff of the GP School to innovate and develop the provision of education for GP trainees and other learners in primary care, including collaboration with the Training Hub, Trusts, and other education providers.
