Full Time 2s/3s Child Care Teacher Jobs in Washington, IL at St. Mark’s Child Care and Preschool
St. Mark’s Child Care and Preschool in Washington is seeking a full time DCFS qualified Teacher for our 2/3 year old room.
Top candidates will have a strong desire to help children develop to their fullest potential, fostering the growth and development of the whole child– the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual.
Our center is open M-F from 7:30 am- 5:00 pm, applicants must be available to work during those hours. This is a full time (40 hours per week) job.
Education Requirements:
- Must be DCFS teacher qualified: 60 hours of college credit with 6 hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development OR 1 year of experience and 30 hours of college credit with 6 hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development. Associates in Child Development preferred.
- Must meet minimum Health Department Food Service Requirements.
- Must maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Will be required to complete 15 hours of DCFS approved trainings every year.

- Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being.
- Must be able to manage confidential information.

The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Bending and twisting as necessary to properly care for children
- Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May occasionally be required to drive a motor vehicle
- Frequent exposure to cleaning solutions
- Exposure to outdoor elements as weather permits.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $17.50 per hour
