Position: Contract Faculty – Mathematics
Salary and Hours
Hourly: $52.41 to $114.65 per hour
Per Three Credit Course: $7,716
Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.
Position Overview
The Mathematics Department in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Douglas College is seeking sessional instructors who are available to teach for the 2026/2027 academic year. Successful candidates will teach face‑to‑face classes at either the New Westminster or Coquitlam campuses.
Responsibilities
Instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in college courses. Plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner‑centered instruction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited university.
- Relevant post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students with problems in learning mathematics, support and challenge students interested in pursuing careers in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering.
