Role Description The Expert Trainer role at CODEFEST AFRICA is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos. The Expert Trainer will design, develop, and deliver high-quality training programs in technology and STEM-related fields for learners at various levels. Daily responsibilities include preparing training materials and curricula, facilitating interactive classroom and lab sessions, mentoring participants, and assessing learner progress through assignments, projects, and evaluations. The Expert Trainer will collaborate with internal teams to align training content with industry standards, incorporate emerging technologies, and continuously improve course delivery. The role also involves providing feedback to learners, supporting their career development, and contributing to community and outreach initiatives that promote STEM education in Africa.
Qualifications
- Strong instructional design and teaching skills, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and learner assessment.
- Solid expertise in one or more technology domains (e.g., software development, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, or related STEM fields).
- Proficiency in facilitating hands-on training sessions, workshops, and bootcamps using modern tools and learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience mentoring or coaching learners, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered training approaches.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple classes, projects, and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, or a related STEM discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Prior experience as a trainer, instructor, or educator in technology or STEM-focused programs is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with industry trends in digital transformation, innovation ecosystems, and the 4th Industrial Revolution in Africa is an advantage.
- Passion for education, talent development, and contributing to the growth of Africa’s technology and innovation landscape.
