Description of the post
Description
The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of 150 people, including research staff and technical staff, and seeks to incorporate a dynamic person, with initiative and organisational skills, who are eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a specialist in European competitive projects to join the centre's management team.
The selected person will carry out functions of management, coordination and monitoring of European competitive projects, working together with the research staff responsible for the projects to ensure their correct implementation in accordance with the deadlines, requirements and objectives established by each funding body.
It is a profile specialized in Research Management and Administration (RMA), aimed at comprehensive project management.
The person incorporated will act as a key figure in the management of the project throughout its execution, ensuring its correct articulation between the internal teams, the consortium partners and the funding agencies.
In the case of coordinated projects, the person incorporated will act as a Project Manager/RMA specialist, acting as a liaison between the members of the consortium, the funding agency and the internal teams, especially in the areas of operational coordination, administrative monitoring, compliance with requirements and support for the global implementation of the project.
It will also be able to manage uncoordinated European projects, and may participate in the preparation of funding proposals linked to the strengthening and development of the office itself, as well as in the execution of internal projects of the office.
Functions And Duties
Active participation in the comprehensive management of European competitive projects, from their start-up to their closure.
Tasks Include
- Participation in the implementation of projects and in the definition of internal monitoring and implementation mechanisms.
- Preparation, review and management of project agreements (Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement) and possible changes or modifications (amendments).
- Technical and operational monitoring of the project together with the project IP: planning of deliverables, reports, milestones, results and schedules, and risk monitoring.
- Organization and dynamization of meetings and events related to the project, both internal and with external partners.
- Coordination of the flow of communication between the members of the consortium, as well as with the funding body, and support in the document management associated with the project.
- Global monitoring of the project's resources and budget, in coordination with the corresponding areas, to ensure its correct execution.
- Responsible for the processes of justification, reporting and preparation of audits, in coordination and with the support of other people and units involved.
- Registration, maintenance and updating of project information in internal management tools.
- Methodological and operational support to the entity's most junior profiles in aspects related to project management and monitoring.
- Participation in the execution of strategic projects of the project office and in the consolidation of processes, tools and criteria for project management.

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post without official recognition of the qualification required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence issued in Spain, together with a Spanish translation of your qualification. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.
If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.
If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.
If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.
Title
A degree in a field relevant to the subject of the call for applications
Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Previous experience (at least two years) in managing competitive European research projects.
- Knowledge of European and international R&D&I funding programmes, particularly Horizon Europe.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience in a university or research centre setting.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Other Requirements
Merits
- A university degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, social sciences, law or a related field.
- PhD.
- Experience in coordinating consortia for the development of European projects.
- C1 level in English.
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan R+D+I funding programmes.
- Additional training in research management and knowledge transfer.
