Your Role
This role is ideal for an English Teacher who enjoys thinking differently about curriculum and engagement. You will:
- Teach English across Years 7-11, adapting content for pupils working at a wide range of levels
- Support learners working toward Entry Level, Functional Skills or GCSE pathways
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may present with emotional or behavioural challenges
- Create a classroom environment that is structured, predictable and genuinely nurturing
- Work closely with therapists, support staff and pastoral teams to ensure a joined‑up approach

What You'll Need
- Right to work in the UK
- QTS with English specialism or strong English‑teaching experience
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and/or KS4
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- References covering the last 24 months
Preferential Experience
- Experience working with SEND, particularly pupils with complex needs
- Confidence delivering English to learners working significantly below age‑related expectations
- Experience in specialist, alternative or therapeutic settings
- Understanding of SEMH, trauma‑informed approaches and behaviour support
