Position: Full-Time English Teacher High School
Excite students about literature and language as a full-time English Teacher for grades 9-12 at Windsor High School. This role focuses on curriculum implementation and fostering strong communication skills.
With the guidance of the School Principal, you’ll help students enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Your responsibilities include designing engaging lesson plans, conducting assessments, and ensuring that curricula meet educational standards. You’ll also encourage parental involvement to support student growth and collaborate with fellow educators.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement an effective English education curriculum
• Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for students
• Create lesson plans that facilitate critical thinking and creativity
• Discuss diverse literature to enhance student perspectives
• Assess student learning and adjust teaching approaches accordingly
Requirements:
• State Certification as an English Education Teacher (#015)
• Bachelor’s degree in applicable education discipline
• Preferred:
Master’s Degree in a related field
• Experience in teaching English is an advantage
• Knowledge of Connecticut State educational standards
