Role Description
The English Teacher role at Thakral Global Learning is available on a Full-Time or Part-Time basis, with on-site teaching assignments in Ratnapura, Ampara, Batticaloa, Matara, Hambantota, Kandy, Badulla, Vavuniya, and Anuradhapura.
The English Teacher will plan and deliver engaging English language lessons for diverse learner groups, ensuring that content aligns with curriculum standards and learner needs. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting classes, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback.
The teacher will also design activities to build speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Additional duties include maintaining accurate records, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum improvements, and participating in training sessions, meetings, and academic development activities as required.
The successful candidate should be willing to travel or work at any of the above-mentioned locations based on organizational requirements and program delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in English Teaching and Teaching, with the ability to instruct learners at different proficiency levels.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Education methodologies to design structured, learner-centered lessons.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal explanation, active listening, and culturally sensitive interaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Prior experience teaching English in a classroom, training center, or similar educational setting is preferred.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics, motivate learners, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
- Familiarity with assessment techniques, learning technologies, and basic digital tools for lesson preparation.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices, professional integrity, and ongoing professional development.
