NewHeart Learning Limited is a specialist alternative provision based in Whittlesey, Peterborough, dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), and persistent absence. We provide a therapeutic, personalised learning environment to help re-engage pupils who are unable to thrive in mainstream educational settings. By partnering with families, local schools, and other professionals, we aim to improve student engagement, emotional regulation, and academic success, helping each child reach their full potential.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site English Teacher role located in Whittlesey. The English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of children with SEMH and EBSA. The role involves fostering positive relationships with students, supporting their academic and emotional development, and collaborating with families and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in English Teaching with strong subject knowledge
- Skills in Lesson Planning and the ability to design differentiated learning materials
- Proficiency and passion for Teaching and Education in an alternative provision setting
- Excellent Communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues
- Experience working with children with SEMH or EBSA needs is highly desirable
- Ability to create a positive and therapeutic learning environment
- Relevant teaching qualifications, such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
