Role Description The English Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assigning and grading work, monitoring learner progress, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves maintaining classroom discipline, supporting learners’ language development, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and school activities, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra, requiring consistent presence during school hours, meetings, and school events.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong English Teaching and Teaching skills, with the ability to deliver clear, engaging lessons to diverse learners.
- Candidates should possess Lesson Planning and Education skills, including curriculum implementation and effective classroom management.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for interacting with learners, families, and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; a teaching qualification or certification is highly preferred.
- Experience teaching English at primary or junior high school level; familiarity with Montessori or learner-centered approaches is an advantage.
- Ability to create an inclusive, respectful classroom environment and support learners with different abilities and backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
