Role Description
This full-time, on-site English Teacher role is based at English 1 Makassar. The English Teacher will plan and deliver engaging English lessons for a range of age groups and proficiency levels, using a variety of teaching methods and classroom activities. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and materials, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and performance. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive learning environment, support student motivation, and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events. Collaboration with colleagues to refine curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to a high standard of teaching quality is also expected.
Qualifications
Strong
- English teaching skills, with the ability to engage learners of different ages and levels.
- Lesson planning skills to design structured, goal-oriented lessons and learning activities.
- Effective communication skills for clear instruction, feedback, and collaboration with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Education, English, Linguistics) or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
- TEFL/TESOL or similar English teaching certification is an advantage.
- Previous classroom or language school teaching experience is beneficial.
- Ability to create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment and manage classrooms responsibly.
- Willingness to work on-site in Makassar and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
