Role Description This is a full-time, on-site English Language Teacher role based in Galle. The teacher will deliver engaging lessons aligned with Cambridge English exam syllabi for learners of different age groups and proficiency levels. Day-to-day tasks include planning and preparing lessons, developing classroom activities, assessing student performance, and providing feedback to support exam readiness. The teacher will maintain accurate records of attendance and progress, prepare learners for internal assessments and official examinations, and participate in staff meetings and training. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching materials, maintaining a supportive classroom atmosphere, and communicating with parents or guardians as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong English Teaching and general Teaching skills, with experience delivering lessons to diverse age groups.
- Proficient in Lesson Planning and curriculum implementation for exam-oriented English programs.
- Background in Education, applied linguistics, or a related field, with knowledge of language learning methodologies.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and effective classroom interaction.
- Recognized English teaching qualification (e.g., CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent) preferred.
- Familiarity with Cambridge English exams and assessment standards is an advantage.
- Ability to manage classrooms, support learner motivation, and adapt teaching to varied learning needs.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and to work collaboratively within a team.
